Sticky Beef Mince Stir Fry

  • 300g beef mince
  • 1 tbsp canola oil
  • 6 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 long red chilli, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp fish sauce
  • 1 cup Chinese broccoli, diced
  • 1 cup red cabbage, diced
  • 1 cup mixed capsicum (red, green, yellow), diced
  • Juice ½ a lime
  • 1 cup Thai basil, to serve
  • Fresh rice noodles, to serve


  1. Heat oil in a large fry pan on high heat.
  2. Add garlic and chilli and toss to prevent burning. Add beef mince and sit occasionally allowing it to brown. Once brown, add fish sauce and kecap manis and stir fry for 5-10 minutes.
  3. Add Chinese broccoli, cabbage and capsicum and stir fry for a couple of minutes. Add lime and serve over noodles and topped with Thai basil.


  • Swap the noodles for rice as another variation to this dish.
  • Beef strips, or sliced sirloin would also work well in this recipe.
